Daniele Fango
Featured Artist
Born in Taranto, Italy, Daniele Fango studied Political Science. Channeling his intellectual curiosity and critical perspective into contemporary ceramics, he trained under masters, Pepe Royo Alcaraz and Concha Arjona. He added an eclectic approach to the local traditions. His traveling experiences in Asia, South America, and Europe enriched his work cultural influences.
Daniele’s art is defined by bold clay manipulation and the subversion of traditional paradigms and dogmas, confronting superficiality and questioning the functionality of everyday objects. As highlighted by TerrArt Magazine, his approach “recasts ceramics as an irreverent and approachable experience, challenging the notion of the artisanal object and its role in society.”
His studio, Fango, in Valencia is a coworking space where ceramics bridge artisanal heritage and conceptual exploration. He continues expanding Fango as a participatory and multidisciplinary environment, rooted in “diffuse learning” and creative exchange. His vision asserts that art emerges from the interplay between technique, humor and critical analysis, fostering continuous renewal in ceramic language and broadening the scope of artistic discourse.
