Ashley Benton
CIY and Reston Community Center Instructor
Ashley Benton has been exploring the art of ceramics for over 4 years. Getting her start at a local community center, she quickly became passionate about the art form. Within six months she started building out a home studio with her own wheel at first, with a kiln to follow shortly thereafter. She now teaches at the community center and at CIY in the hopes to inspire and cultivate that same passion in others.
Ashley graduated with a degree in Interior Design and Art from Radford University. She has always been drawn to the creative arts and has expressed that through baking, woodworking, fiber arts, drawing, and photography. She draws her inspiration from her travels, exploring nature and everyday life experiences.
She loves the versatility of clay and working with a myriad of techniques. She believes in continual learning and improvement and never stops exploring.
